    It's alive !!!!

After a carb tear down, it fired up this morning

Still seem to be having carb issues, bought a new set off ebay, hopefully be here soon. Cheaper then 4 rebuild kits \\/and 1 diaphram
It seems someone tried to reline the gas tank, the crap is everywhere in the fuel system, I can't seem to get all the internal passages to stay clean or clean enough to start with. Runs for a bit then if you let off throttle it dies, or holds 1k even at wide open. Petcock checked out fine, airfilter is new, carbs sync'ed hmmmm.
Anybody ran dual carbs on one off these I have a set from a CB750 SS with the right boots they'll go on, problem is the vaccum to the petcock there aint one .

whichever carbs you use you want to give them a thorough clean and new o-rings
carb kits are not needed unless you have broken parts in your carbs that need replacing
your petcock should be enough of a filter so it's either not fuctional or your carbs werent cleaned properly
the set of carbs from ebay is likely to need cleaning

Good advice here! Go to cycleorings.com and order a kit.

Are you saying there is no vacuum fitting on the carb or the petcock?

Either way is rather easy to fix. If the carb has no vacuum fitting, use the fitting that you would use to sync the carbs. If the petcock has no vacuum port and the carbs do, simply plug the port on the carbs.

On the dual set up, on the carbs the vacuum fitting plug is filled, I use a throat guage to synch em, I did find a conversion kit for the petcock though, got another set of carbs coming so I think I'll try and be patient for the 3 days its gonna take to getem.
