Bogg Down at 3000rpm
It was running good for about two weeks, but now it is running like crap. It idles fine at about 900-1100rpm, but if you throttle it up past 3000rpm it starts to die. Low bellowing sound from the exhaust pipes.

Has the temp gone up much recently? If so, the air density difference may have made your engine run rich. Have you made any changes to your carbs, or to the airflow?

Me Too
I am haveing the same problem with my 82 GS750E.
I have recently had the carbs cleaned and I think it is the card settings.
If I were to start from scratch what would the carb tuning procedure be?
I have tried the timing and checked the coil. they both cecked OK.
Any more ideas?

Got it
Finaly after much trouble shooting with my 82 GS750 I learned that all hoses are valuable and none should be over looked.
When I experienced the same problem I had the air intake and manifold off so I could tweek on my freshly cleaned carbs. at this point I too would bogg down at 3000 RPM.
Finaly I put the manifold and intake back on the bike and instaled the tube that returned presseure from the engine to the carb. It is located on the top of the engine and feedsa into the top of the carb. Try inspecting this hose.
Now the bike runs great, or like a raped ape as a mechanic once put it.

Re: Got it
There are no hoses coming from the engine that pressurize the carbs. The large hose on top of the valve cover is a breather hose. :-)
