I have put together a photobucket slideshow to show how I fixed mine. Have a look - http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/i...t=25e3e1ee.pbw

The photos keep getting jumbled up but if you poke about you'll get the idea. I have tagged the images to make things a bit easier.

      yo Dave
GREAT!!!! you put a huge smile on my face. I missed that solution completely. When you said you fixed it, i was scratchin my head thinking, what he do, "V" grind and weld. And WoW there it is. I can do this.. I owe you a tall glass of what ever you want. I am happy once again.
thanks. hope i can return the favor.

Did you see me photo stuff on carb sync screws. you might be interested. I think bwringer had them posted some where. maybe its something you might like, and i would feel a whole lot better giving back.

Dude, I'll tell you what - At some stage (in the years ahead) I am planning on riding 'coast to coast' in the good ol' U.S of A.

When I do that I am hoping that I will have some friends I can call in on and share a cold beer and a warm meal.

So for now, just fix that damn motorcycle and get riding (and make sure you've always got a cold beer in the fridge)

Did you drill it out yourself, or did you have a machine shop drill and tap the pinion gear?

If you click the 'slideshow' button (top right cnr of page) on photobucket I have attached captions for all of the pics. The order keeps getting messed up (damned photobucket) but the captions explain it fairly well.

I have also added tags to the pics (blue writing under captions) 'roll over' the tag lines and the area is highlighted in the pic.

To answer your question - I had the engineer do it.

I have a frig in the basement with just beer. I have beer in cases on the floor waiting to go into the basement frig. I keep beer in the kitchen frig as well. AND i make my own beer a couple times a year. I have 7 motorcycles (last count) 3 sons, and 3 jobs. (1 wife) Some say i do things a little too excessively.
I'll keep the light on for ya.
