    82 850g(curiosity seeking)

Hi to All, It must be 850 nite so I have a question. Without a manual can
someone tell me what function the resistor in headlamp buckets purpose is?

I have an idea, but want it explained.

Remaking an 82 850G many parts at a time..............

    Thanks bmac

      Resistor

Hey thecafekid, No I don't but it looks very original, lead in -resistor -lead out covered with looks to be a factory plastic sheild. Dark green with white stripe.

        I'll bet you it's not a resistor. It's a diode.

It's the only diode on the entire bike, and it is used so the kickstand switch does not backfeed through the oil pressure light. 8-[

            resistor or diode

Thank you Basscliff and you are right it is a diode. I had a brain cramp last nite and used the wrong description for that piece. The problem is the mind is going and the body is just carrying it along as a hat.

            Thanks for the info, bmac
