I believe if you do a search, you'll see where the most common suggestion is to actually replace all the connectors with the blade type. The bullet ones suck. I have a lot of them on my GS that have been temporarily crimped together with a pair of pliers until I get time to replace them to keep them from coming apart.

i've used blade and bullet connectors as replacements. my own opinion is that, as long as it's protected from dirt and corrosion, either type should work ok.2002 bmw r1150gs 1978 gs1000E skunk les pew 1979 gs1000L dragbike

I found another use for Caig Deoxit spray unrelated to electrics. If you spray the stuff on rubber/neoprene parts, they will swell . There are many places this might come in handy (in a pinch) on these old bikes.
