I believe if you do a search, you'll see where the most common suggestion is to actually replace all the connectors with the blade type. The bullet ones suck. I have a lot of them on my GS that have been temporarily crimped together with a pair of pliers until I get time to replace them to keep them from coming apart.

I found another use for Caig Deoxit spray unrelated to electrics. If you spray the stuff on rubber/neoprene parts, they will swell. There are many places this might come in handy (in a pinch) on these old bikes.
