What size bolt is on the Front sprocket?

What size bolt is on the Front sprocket on a 1978 GS 750E? The largest size socket I have is 24mm and it's bigger than that also in the book it's blank where it should show a size.

1 and 1/4" usually fits them.

Any chance it would be the same size as the nut for a 450?

I think that's why there is a 1 1/2" socket in my socket tray. 8-[

This came up recently for another bike, and it was 32mm. 1-1/4 inch also works just fine -- they happen to be almost exactly the same size (1.25*25.4=31.75mm).

Dunno if this applies to your bike, but odds are good.

Thanks everybody, now off to hunt down a much larger than expected impact socket.

FYI, the 32 mm socket can be easily had at Sears.
