Rear shocks: Progressive vs. Hagon
OK, I'm planning to replace my rear shocks and have been doing a lot of searching/reading. Progressives are by far the most recommended brand. Hagons seem to be regarded as better shocks. Progressivses will cost about $230 plus shipping. Hagons are only $218 plus shipping.

Meh. I don't care much what color the springs are as long as they perform. Function before form. (I was planning to go with black anyway.)

I have a set of each and they are both quality aftermarket shocks. The Hagons were a little stiff initially but after about 500 miles they broke in nicely. I do not think you can go wrong with either brand. One nice thing about the Hagons is that when you call for them Dave will ask you about your weight, riding style, and two up riding. I think the inner dampers are the same for the model you choose but the outer spring they use will be based on the information you give them.82 GS850L - The Original http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/d...ePics067-1.jpg

Yeah it took a while to get mine, but I think they look really sharp. Unfortunately, I have nothing to compare them to. But I did like that dave was asking all those questions to get me set up with the right shock for the job

I think mine took 4 or 5? But as I recall, it's because the spring he needed was on back order from the UK. I believe it was a one off situation. Definitely give Dave a call and ask what he can tell you about benefits etc. He definitely sold me, but that was around 2 years ago, so I've since forgotten
