I haven't used a pingle personally. They are supposed to be very good & rebuildable. DON"T forget to turn it off

        I have one.
So far I am happy with it.
Only problem I have is it is soooo easy to change its position. eg when you are lifting the tank off and you knock it into res and pour gas all over your boots:shock:. Just as well I quit smoking.
        Cheers

well if you measured the screw eye to eye and odered the correct adapter plate you should be good to go. I have used mine and forgot to shut it off once and that was all it took now I am much more careful with it. Anyway the pingel suport guys are excelent I needed anotehr gasket and some parts they sent them to me free of charge. Very impressed with them.

            you won't be disappointed

              Pingel

The problem that most have with the infamous '80 petcocks isn't that they don't flow.....it's that they flow all the time! I put a Pingel on the GS750 years ago and it's wonderful.

Be advised that on most 1980 models, it's a very, very close fit so get it turned just right so you'll be able to have the range of motion needed to properly turn it on and off.8-[ There's a few other tricks you really need to know. About 6 or 7 years ago, I wrote a fairly through account of the process. If you do a search for "Pingel project completed", you may find it helpful. Also search "Pingel fuel valves"....I wrote quite a bit more there.

                    Search feature

It is a good piece and you can access it by going to the "search" icon at the top of the page. After clicking it, type in pingel project completed and click on GO and you'll have the pleasure of reading it.

I noticed on the 79 GS750L that the adapter plate took some light grinding to fit.
