    Rear Master cylinder problem

Can anyone help!! I just purchased my first bike a 77 GS750 and found the rear brakes were not working. So I took off the rear master and found the piston frozen solid in the body. Now I am have a hard time finding a replacement . It is the style with the reservoir is attached to the master cylinder. I am wondering if anyone knows if the master cylinder with the remote reservoir will fit my model Thanks

Before replacing the master you might want to get the old piston out and have a look inside. There is a recessed C-clip that must be removed first and then you can stick a small punch or screwdriver in the outlet end of the master and punch the piston backwards and out. If you get lucky, there won't be any internal damage to the aluminum and you can just order a rebuild kit to get back on the road.

    Good luck.
