Brake pedal problem GS1100GK
The rear brake pedal on my GS1100GK is sticking and the problem has been getting progressively worse. Looking at it, I thought I could just remove the pedal, disconnect the brake linkage, return spring and switch, then push the shaft out to clean and lube it. Aparently not.... Can anybody tell me how to remove that shaft?Tags: None

Can't tell You how but that is exactly what fixed My 850G when it was doing that, the shop did it while they were changing ther Rear tire. It looked to Me like He removed the brake pedal and tapped out the shaft from the other side.

I had been pretty cautious, since I'm known for twisting off bolts and beating on things that shouldn't be beat on. But, I went back to it and gave it a good rap with a wooden block and hammer, and it came out. It was nasty and rusty, but a few minutes on a wire wheel cleaned up the shaft and a scrubbing with a brass bore brush (it just happened to be about 12 ga) cleaned out the bore of it's bracket. It's all greased and reassembled and working fine now.
