    Rotor gs1000g

    Got the rotor off.
    everything looks alright.
    Allen screws tight all rollers pins and springs appear to be ok.
    Whats going on???
    Have the springs lost their tension??
    Ideas??

    ummm, it might help to post what the problem is.

    and yes the springs and pins and rollers do wear.

    notice any dimples on the outside of the starter clutch housing?

      The problem was the starter not engaging.
      Hit the starter and just a wurring noise.
      Is the starter clutch housing attached to the rotor and contains the rollers, pins, springs?
      If it is there are 3 pimles on the outer edge apporximately adjacent to where the pins and rollers fit. They are uniform and look to be pressed it at manufacture but I could be wrong.

        nope, the pimples are from the rollers slamming out. over time they start to tear out. you will need to carefully knock them back in.

        did it just suddenly start doing this?

        did it gradualy build up to this point?

        have you done any work to the starter or battery recently?

            Are these the pimples/ dimples you are talking about??
            On closer examination the 2 off the rollers have flat spots on them.
            So I will order a new set of springs pins and rollers tomorrow.
