'80 GS850G Tach drive oil leak & Camchain tensioner oil

Any body have any tricks for sealing up the Tach drive (front of cam cover) oil leak? Oil seems to drip out of the cable, not the base. I have replaced the o-ring.

Anybody know if there is a rebuild kit for the cam chain tensioner or any tricks for the oil leak there? Oil drips off the end of the adjuster, not at the base.

Otherwize this is one of the nicest original stock condition bikes of its age around (at least of those seen being ridden).

hello, in the tach drive there is a oil seal # 09289-05002 and in the cam chain adjuster the seal # 09284-10006 You can check on bike bandit to confirm #'s but they are easy to change and you will be pleased with the results. Goog luck

Ensure the tach drive is in good condition where the seal is. I am buying a new one right now to fix the same problem.

About the tach drive oil leak: I just got a set of microfische for my GS850GT and I see the oil seal (that was mentioned in other reply) that is in addition to the o-ring that I replaced before and its still leaking.
WIll inspect the mating sufaces when I replace the seal.

About camchain tensioner: I also see that part number for an o-ring there also.

About "vintage": yup, 1980 is the year my son was born and he just graduated from college. So . . . .
