Where do I find my vin? I have (or at least that's what the title says) a 1979 gs750E. I don't think it's an e... From all of the pictures I've looked at trying to figure out what kind of bike I have I've come to decide it's actually a gs750 L because it's got the cruiser style seat, no plastic part behind the seat, and a different gauge cluster. It's got the cluster with the gear position indicator along the top and gas gauge in the tach.Tags: None

sorry for the stupid question but... The neck would be the part that connects to the front forks right? This is my first cycle. Although I know plenty about engines and cars I had no idea some stuff was so different for bikes. BTW this forum rocks my socks. I just finished rebuilding my carbs based on the guide that's on here (it's the vm carbs). There was so much varnish and rusty dust in there it was amazing. I poured two bottles of rust remover in the gas tank and now there's only very little rust that I can see. Hopefully I cleaned out all that dusty crap that was screwing up the carbs. Anyway, Thanks again for everyone in this forum.

Sure thing. Take a look at the front most part of the frame, directly in front of and below the tank. The VIN should be there on the right hand side of the bike. Youll have a sticker or it'll be stamped on the neck.
Oh and alternate the picture to the right in your head. you can just see the black tank on the leftLast edited by Guest; 05-22-2008, 06:40 PM.
