Wont run well?
Im helping my buddy jason get his 77 gs750 going. He overfilled the oil and it was smoking because of it. I had him drain some oil and its running clean with no smoke but if i give it some gas it stalls instantly. When the oil was overfilled it smoked like hell but ran fine when i give it gas. Any suggestions?.

Did your buddy overfill the oil or is the petcock leaking and dumping gas into the oil?
Regarding the poor running bike, there are a ton of different possible reasons. The bike is almost 30 years old and things like the carburetor o-rings dry out and electrical connections develop resistance. Standard procedure in my world is to go through the carbs, install new O-rings (including those on the intake pipe boots). You need to cross off some possible problems and clean carbs are a good place to start.Ed
To measure is to know.

Im plannigt on showing him how to clean his carbs. He definetally way overfilled his oil. Its at the proper level now. What gets me is that before the exess oil was drained it ran and throttled fine but it smoked like a *****. Now its starting and idleing perfect with no smoke but when i give it gas it stalls out.
