    Tachometer Linkage

I have a GS1100GLZ 1982. I have a new Tachometer and a new cable. I have hooked it up but it does not work. I think something is missing on the end that hooks into the engine head. I can't seem to find a clear diagram of the linkage parts. Does anyone know of a picture or part diagram that might indicate what is missing? Could be that what the end of the Cable plugs into is stripped?

    Thanks,
    Troy

disconnect the tack end & check to see if the cable is turning, if it is not turning check the engine side, Disconnect the cable from the engine & check that the cable end fitting did not come loose from the cable. Check & make sure the little flat piece that drives the speedo did not break off (item 19)
