    Battery F*ck up

    Worst day of my life I finally got my bike out here fixed the whole in the tank changed the oil. and just needed to charge the battery i had it hooked up fine the bike had power and everything but to make along story short my buddy tried to start it no power of course it sat for ten minutes and then PUT THE CHARGE CLIPS ON THE WRONG POLARITIES!!!!!!! it blew the main fuse replaced but now i get NO POWER TO THE BIKE AT ALL. does someone know how to fix this?????? please

    and now that i have it hooked up right the brake light is on, while it bike is off?!?!?!!?

        possible short

        When these bikes short out, in my experience the wiring harness will heat up and melt the insulation if its a bad enough short. This can happen under the tape. I think you should think along the lines that the wires are shorting into each other some where. Look and smell.... I like to use an old turn signal light with alligator clips on it to chase circuits. Follow the brake light wire back using a wire diagram for your bike.

          There are two "off" positions of the key. one is at 10 o clock or so, the other at 1:00.

          The 1:00 one leaves the rear light on.

            You are absolutely right bakalorz, I feel a bit stupid if thats all his problem is. I guess I assumed he knew the ignition, and assumed it was worse then probably is. ](*,)

              no there actually is a problem when i turn the key to the power on position my control indicator lights dont even light up. when ten minutes prior to the accident it did

                I think you fried your ignition switch. Melted the wires for the rear light with a hot wire.
                Take your headlight off and have a looksy in your bucket.

                  Yeah so i got a new battery and the extent of the damage is the signals, indicator lights (not gauges backlit light), and the horns don't work.
