Manual says use suzuki super grease. What other greases can I use from the local hardware store?

I would use a high-quality wheel bearing grease from an automotive store.

You can use a high moly content grease, it will do the same job. I use super moly, esso usually.Comment

On what bike?
Every UJM I've messed with uses sealed bearings -- you don't add any lube. You leave them alone, install them properly and keep the pressure washer away from 'em, and that's about it.and God said, "Let there be air compressors!"

My 78 had a re-packable drive bearing in it... I got a kit as one of the other bearings was sticky so it was replaced along with that one & is now non re-packable.
I would use a decent bearing grease, go to Autozone or somewhere, it will be clearly labeled..!

if they're sealed - no greasing
if they're open type bearing - maybe worth replacing with a sealed type - less worries and they are inexpensiveGS850GTComment

Even sealed bearings need greasing. Often they don't have a lot of grease in them when they are new and after 25yrs, what is in there is dried out. So even with new bearings, I pop off the seal and pack them with grease, then put the seal back on and install them. Then for sure you never have to worry about them.Comment
