intake boots
ok quick question i know there are left and right boots but do you assemble them like u are sitting on the bike left on left right on right or from the front of the bike because by sitting on the bike way i cant seem to get my damn carbs to set on all 4 of them. i have been ****ing with it for about 4 hrs and i am getting no where and running out of ways to try and get it done.

If you had them on wrong side they would be so far off that it would be obvious.
I dont know about if you had the 2 left on left and 2 right on right (how ever that is defined), but if they where upside down, dont know how that would effect things. Have you concidered that?
Have you tried some lube of any sort? I recall using some WD-40 and still struggling for some time and it involved a piece of lumber so could push on all four at once. But the lube helped.
And then it went so much easyer after I replaced the intake boots with new ones (had a couple that were cracked and then was backfiring real bad).Last edited by Redman; 06-04-2008, 06:21 PM.http://webpages.charter.net/ddvrnr/GS850_1100_Emblems.jpg

it looks like it is lined up pretty decent so i thought they were right. i i have one of the outer ones clamped and was trying to get the other side in and cant seem to push the carbs that far forward. i even tried to loosen the boot and then put it on clamp it and tighten back up but i cant seem to get it like that either
