Rim Question
I am looking to replace the rims on my 1981 GS850G, there is a local used parts dealer that has a set of rims off of a 1982 GS850G, are the rims for both years the same, or do I need to find a set from an 81?Tags: None

82 wheels are tubeless which is nice. I'm pretty sure they are direct replacements for your 81's.Ed
To measure is to know.

they should fit just fine, i THINK
they are a slightly different design though
and the disc is mounted differently
and the axle comes through from the other side
best take yours off and compare
ps. nessism. my 1980 rear rim is tubeless, i wonder if that means it was replaced at some stageLast edited by psyguy; 06-05-2008, 05:22 AM.GS850GT

What is the problem with the rims on your 81 850G? The rims off of the 82 will be a different design but should fit your bike.

Other than cosmetics there are no functional problems with my rims, just happened that the best place locally for used parts that I know has rims off of an 82 that are in mint shape for cheap :-D.
