    Gaskets

Well, looks like I am in need for some gaskets. Specifically, valve cover gaskets. Where do you all get yours from?

I got mine at the local shop. They are hard to beat on some stuff. Only thing I have not purchased there is chain and sprockets Helmet came from newenough. flatout got the nod for a stator cover and gasket.

If you are planning on keeping the bike for a while, think about a Realgasket.
It can be reused over and over again, and they don't leak.

          Hi Mr. Outlander,

Which bike are we talking? I use the Real Gasket (reusable silicone) gasket on my valve cover and breather. Makes checking the valves a much quicker job. For other gaskets, it depends. For onsie-twosie I usually order from the local dealer (no shipping). For larger orders, Z1, BikeBandit, or other major online vendor.

          Thank you for your indulgence,

          BassCliff

Real Gaskets are nice for the 8 valve engines that have the tach gear in the head. If you have a 550, with tach gear in the valve cover, the Real Gasket is too thick and will keep the tach gear from properly meshing with the exhaust cam gear drive. Using a stock gasket if better for this application.

Buy the valve cover gasket at your local Suzuki dealer. I find most on ebay more expensive than your local dealer. I pay $17 Can, Ted
