Will Stator from a 425 fit an 850????

    Hello All,

I have a stator from a GS425 parts bike that I no longer want except if it will fit my GS850G 1982.

Does anyone know if it will?

    Any help appreciated.

Look 'em both up on Bike Bandit, and see if the part number is the same.

Sometimes the rubber plug is a different shape or in a different location, therefore it's a different part number.

But, the biggest difference is in the year. I see that your 425 is(was) a '79, while the 850 is an '82.
I think all the stators were bigger starting in 80, when the bikes lost the kick starter.
