    Help! Need 42.5 pilot & 170 airjet 82 750EZ

Time now for my walk of shame...while bringing 82 750EZ out of retirement, I lost a stock 42.5 pilot jet and the 170 air jet (one GSR post lists this as the pilot air jet - it's the small round jet that is screwed into the left orifice on the intake side of my stock CV carbs.)

I dropped them down my laundry room sink drain (didn't have a strainer in the drain :-( - idiot! that I am)...Have called a plumber but no response yet (and not even sure they can be recovered via that method...)

I've checked some of the forums and can't seem to find a source for factory Mikuni parts as listed above. Motorcyclecarbs.com doesn't list these parts, and our buddy Wired George @ www.wgcarbs.com seems to be getting out of the parts business. I can't wait 8 weeks for one of his rebuilds, either.

Anyone got any suggestions (other than buying a set of carbs off ebay?)

They are probably still sitting in the trap of the laundry sink. Don't run any water down the sink. Remove the trap and empty everything into a bucket. If your lucky they are still in there.

Thank you Chef! You are a great resource (and friend) on this forum! I've read MANY posts that you've written, and all of the fellow GSRs should applaud the dedication and thoughtfulness you have offered in your support of the GSResources.com.

              almarconi,

I HOPE they are still in the drain pipe - took great care not to run any H20 after my "ooops" moment. This drain has no trap, and also services H20 from kitchen sink and dishwasher 1 story above, so there MAY be a problem.

I DO sincerely thank you for your advice, and hope that we will converse (on happier subjects in the future!)

Your immediate response to a "stranger's" request means a lot to me! Thanks again.

Wow! What do I owe you for your trouble?

I sincerely appreciate your immediate reply, response, and mailing of your parts. I'm overwhelmed - know that this is a great forum, but definitely appreciate your help.

How can I repay your generosity? What do I owe you for your time, parts, postage, and gas to get to the P.O.?

Not sure where you are located, but I've been a professional photographer for 20+ years. Can I assist in some way?

                  Greg J

All I ask that you do to repair me is pass the generosity on to someone else that may need it. Its all about Karma!!!

                        Pass it on! Amen!

Great advice, and will "pass it on" at every opportunity. I'm a firm believer in "what comes around, goes around (aka Karma)." Thank you again.

Thanks to everyone on this site for your wisdom and time.
