That bike looks very familiar ! i also have an 82 gs 1100gl . This forum is great, the folks here have really helped me with problems on this bike. Good luck !

thanks, im gonna need it. i got it the rest of the way down to the frame today, getting estimates on powdercoating. workin on getting the engine apart...
interesting task to say the least.

well, got the engine completely apart. oh what fun that was. never seen the inside of one of these before. guess theres a first time for everything. and its a good thing i did. the P/O i guess left it outside without spark plugs in it, for there was water in the engine..... when i broke it apart, inside the tranny part is rusted a little bit, some of the tranny parts are rusted, so its a good thing that i took it all the way down, against the advice of a buddy of mine. now he says its a good thing i did, lol. but, from here on to paint with the engine and clean up of all parts.
