    Petcock Question

I have a chrome aftermarket petcock from z1 that seems to work fine on my tank. However, when I have taken it off, I have noticed that the built in fuel filter was slightly loose. I can twist it off. So I put a tiny dab of Superglue at the base to hold it secure. Should I be worried about this? Will the superglue just melt with gas on it?

    Here it is http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=1744

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Looking at it, I really only need a basic adhesive (maybe gasket sealer) to hold the vertical plastic filter part (see picture in thread from Z1) firmly to the metal part of the petcock.

So adhesive experts, help me on this: are basic gasket sealers resistant to gas? I saw a thread lock compound that said it was "Chemical resistant" whatever that means.

We don't get pingle taps in the UK. I would guess that its loose due to having to be removed to clean any rubish that may get into the filter.

So I wouldn't go sticking the thing in permanently.

      Suzuki mad.
