stater and rotor replacement
I have a GS850G and I found a stater and rotor for a GS750, it looks the same as what I need. Does anyone know if this will fit?Tags: None

Yes. In 80 they swapped all the stators to the 18 pole variety, due to the GSs no longer having kickstarters. They needed to beef up the already weak charging system in order to deal with electric start only. Shame they got rid of the kickers. I think they should bring them back on bikes. *sigh*

The part numbers are the same
Hi Mr. clintonroberts1,
Is the 750 motor the 8-valve kind? I think they use a 12-pole stator. If your 750 is a 16-valve motor it uses the same 18-pole stator that the 850 uses. If they are both 18-pole stators, there's no need to transplant the rotor.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
