    Which wire/connector for battery sensor

I just got an '85 1150 which didn't have a battery with sensor. I got a new battery and sensor but I don't know where to plug the sensor in. The sensor has a red or pink lead. There is a green wire in a connector close by, is this the place? Can I hurt it by trying it out?

    Thanx,

Is it the original sensor from the bike or maybe came with the battery?
Reason I ask is on both my 1100s the sensor wire is green (the one on the loom and the one from the sensor).

Should be easy to test though. First check if there is any voltage on the green wire before you plug in up to the sensor, with the bike running. If not, it shouldn't hurt anything to try it and see if the battery indicator light goes out.

The wiring diagram shows a green/blue wire on the sensor.

        Thanx!

Thanx! It was the green wire. The shop I got the $35 battery from gave me a sensor that was pink/red. But it works great.
