Nope, it's a normal right-hand thread. It is held in with thread locker, so it will take quite a lot of torque to crack loose.

was a good question really as a lot of people get it wrong.as bwringer says its a normal r/h thread but its a fine thread and should be fitted with threadlock so can make it a bitch to undo. an air gun makes easy work if you have access to one, but torque it up properly when refitting.1978 GS1085.
Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!
