Probably a dum question but...
My oil light comes on just when I put my keys in and am about to start the bike and turns off once I start the bike. If it turns off when I start my bike does that mean everything is ok?Tags: None

You car probably does the same thing. Have you never questioned it?

Yes, that is okay.
Think of that light as an oil "pressure" light, it comes on when there is no or low oil pressure (it is not a low oil level indicator).
If the light did not come on when turned on key before starting engine, then you should be concerned that there is a probelm with the indication (probably bad bulb).

There are never dumb questions...
(only people)
Always ask questions... never hurts and someone else might be thinking the same thing but didn't ask...

FYI, the oil pressure on these old Suzuki's is extremely low. usually between 1.4 - 7.1 psi It's also very rare to have one with a true oil pressure problem.
