Battery Bubbles??

ok i bought a new battery the other week and charged it on a 12 hours cycle.

my battery dead the other day. so today i took it out and their were bubbles still in it. i thought it wouldnt have bubbles in it anymore after a charge.

so whats up, bubbles or no bubbles???

Could be a faulty regulator causing it to boil as in dry. If its a 12 ampere hour battery the theory is that the charge required is say 1amp over 12 hours, or say 3 amps over 4 hours. The best initial charge of a new battery is a slow charge with a small amperage. It may have been over charged on its initial charge. Check to see what sort of amps were put into it in the 12 hours. Haven't wrecked it at this point, but would reccommend it sat and re-covered for 24 hours.

Bubbles can indicate different things, depending on when they appear

You say you charged it for 12 hours, at how many amps? A motorcycle battery charger is about .75 amp

How long did it take to go dead? Were you riding for some miles before it died? How's your charging output?

Looks like you need to look into the charging cicuit. I would recommend doing the multimeter checks found within the "Stator Papers" article on this website. Really valuable information, and it will tell you if the bike's electrical system is all right (or all wrong.)
