Need Opinion....
I just finish picking up my frame and various other parts from the "sand blasters", and the finish is quite rough. Should it. They offered to blast and paint, but I am either doing it myself or I have a couple connections with autobody shop that can paint for me real cheap. Anyways is it normal to come out like that, or should I have expected a smoother finish.

I would have chosen some other type of blast media. Sand will leave a rough finish Give it lots of filler type primer & lots of sanding

It wasn't sand, aluminum oxide so something like that. There was quite a bit of rust on the frame, so they wanted to use something hard I guess. Also they said they do cycle frames all the time.

Aluminum oxide comes in different grits, just like sandpaper. Even large grit stuff is fine though for a cycle frame. Shoot some nice epoxy primer on it and the rough texture gives the paint something to grab on to.Ed
