Cross threading can be fixed with a tap (M8 X 1.25).
Soak the broken one with PB Blaster, and either vise grips or weld a nut to it. DO NOT GET OVERZEALOUS AND BREAK A TAP OR EXTRACTOR OFF IN THE HOLES. THEN YOU WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW HEAD.
ask me how I know....

i will hate life if it does, but i might have a donar from the T that is sitting right beside it, lol.
meaning i am going to have to take the heads off
oh well, if i want it done right....

No doubt you'll be fine on your head, just be careful. I had to replace mine because (you think your PO was bad) I had...
4 holes already with inserts in them
1 hole with a broken bolt below the surface
1 hole that looked to be drilled for an insert, but with no insert in it
2 holes that needed to be tapped.
In the process of trying to fix that mess, the hole drilled, but with no insert had been drilled too deep by the PO and when putting in the insert it broke through the head and now leaks oil. I managed to get a drilled hole in the bolt broken below the surface and then promptly broke an extractor off in it. At this point, I started shopping for a new head.
