    Another R/R Question

    Hi there.
    I've got a 1979 GS1000EN US import. As usual the charging system has fried all it's components
    Mine has seperate Regulator and Rectifier units as you can see in the photo(This seems to be normal for early US bikes but not on UK spec models).
    Is it ok to replace the pair of them with a combined R/R from Electrexworld?

      I've just ordered the parts from Electrex and they'll be with me tomorrow

      I've checked the wiring diagrams and it looks straightforward to do. At the moment 2 of the 3 Generator wires split and one goes to the reg and the other to the rec. This confused me yesterday because I had 5 wires coming from the generator and I knew that the generator normally has only 3

        Woo Hoo. Just fitted new Electrex Generator coils and Reg/Rec and I've now got a fully functioning charging system again
        I've converted to all in one Reg/Rec in place of the original 2 seperate components.

            Thanks Psyguy. Got some other bits to do to it on Saturday then hopefully it'll be all systems go
