    Cam Chain Tensioner

Well I have tried to rebuild then reinstall the cam chain tensioner. However, I still have the same noise I had before the rebuild. IT seems as if the spring that is around the knob is weak. I tried to make it slightly tighter than it was, but it still seems weak. Should I take it apart and try to make this tighter, will this have any effect?

I had to turn the engine slightly to get the pushrod to go back in, but when i turned the engine and knob counterclockwise (as per Billy Ricks instructions found by searching),then turned clockwise, the knob did not seem to do much of anything. I think the whole thing may just be worn out.

If so, what vendor can I use to get a new one?

The spring must be tensioned by winding it back a couple of turns, and then locating the bent end of the spring into the hole on the wheel/ knob.
