I always liked spending most of my time around 6-7000 rpms on the GS. Right in the sweet spot.

                  Idle: 1050 per book
                  Cruising: 3500-5000 = 50mph - 70mph in 5th gear
                  Normal Shift: 3000-4000
Aggressive Shift: 6000 = about 5/8 throttle is all my wrist can do
How far you have pushed it: 9500 redline (1-2-3 shifts only)

                  Thanks
'81 GS750EX Speedo only goes to 85mph so that' how fast I ever took it while watching the speedo in a straight line.

How far you have pushed it:9k into 3rd. As a noob I accidentally downshifted again while accelerating. After I pulled the clutch back in I saw the needle coming down through 10k. Oops.

                          Cruising: (normally) ~4000
                          Normal Shift: ~4500-5000

I'm actually a pretty conservative rider, never more than 5 over the limit in town or 10 over on the freeway, just enough to keep with the flow of traffic (or a little ahead) and not be a hazard going to slowly.

                          Thank you for your indulgence,
