Biggest thing you will notice from the pipe is the weight loss. It's better than Jenny Craig (American weight loss centers for you Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, etc...)
Dropping 30 pounds or so off the bike makes it handle like a totally different machine.

Truthfully awesome. But I look at this in the long term. Ive spent a lot of time myself and money of replacing parts and then replacing those parts that broke while trying to install them. I ordered a set of piston rings thinking it was the right size. I try and put them on and they were bigger. Ordered and waited a week or more and was doing good until I got to the oil ring and when the jugs wouldn't slide down any further, was sliding it back up gently and bent one oil ring really good. Cursing a lot and then waited another week or more to just get the right rings on. My point being after everything and round $2500 ive spent within 2 years on my bike which is having some major vacuum issues but going to order new intake boots, o-rings and trying to get used carb diaphragms to fix that. But my point being is that everytime I have fixed something and took it for a ride, it was music to my ears going through the gears. Just have patience doing anything with your bike and you will be all set. (I know easier said then done)

Second on patience.
I'm headed home soon hoping the new (to me) head I ordered has arrived so I can start tearing it down to take to the machine shop. Found a nightmare of heli-coils and broken bolts under the stock headers on my old head. I have hopes it will end one day (the MAJOR repairs), but in the meantime, I sure love riding it.

I feel the pain,
I got this bike a month ago and it was running great. Thought I would do a valve adjustment and carb rebuild, found that the valves were way out and the carb floats were adjusted incorrectly. Got it together and ran so much better, but then started to backfire. I noticed all 4 intake boots were literally falling off. I'm waiting for them now...
I just wonder, if I got pods, exhaust, and a stage 3 jet kit, how much "tuning" do I need to do after that, or is it as simple as installing those three items and your off?

Thats what I like to hear. I'm looking at $500 to do it all, so it might be a winter project.

I was hoping pipe install was going to do it for me this year. Plan was a rebuild this winter. That timetable got changed to "now" unfortunately, But. It's going to run like champ after.

#2 pipe on mine has a dent in it from PO. I don't think it is big enough to cause any reprocussions, but I just want a 4-1, pods, and a jet kit. Sounds like a great package. I would get some great sound out of it and hopefully some more power (though it has good power now).
Let me know how yours turns out.

Before all my mods that I started messing around with, I did have an old black V&H pipe on it that already had a jet kit. It sounded really good and it took off very well too. Just loved the sound that came our the pipe when hitting those high rpm's.
