Why replace 3 clutch springs?

Just wondering, as I have 2 gs's and 6 new clutch springs, it would seem I am ideally placed to 'tweak' both clutches.
Now I am just wondering why replace 3 springs and not all 6?
My thoughts are,

saves maybe ending up with a heavy clutch lever.
saves a wee bit of money.
saves a few minutes when doing the job.

I bet this turns out to be a really stupid question, and the answer is going to be something insane, like 3 springs uprates your fuel economy or something equally unobvious to a bodger like me.

It's quite common to replace 3 springs out of 6 when putting in heavy duty springs as this achieves a sort of halfway house position - clutch not too heavy but can still bite under load. I'd measure the free length to see what the current springs are like before making the decision whether to change them or not.

Headphase, my feeble little mind evidently works a bit like yours.

If you are going to all the trouble of replacing any of the springs, why not just replace all SIX of them with STOCK springs,
unless, of course, you have installed that mega-1588cc kit with 20:1 compression that puts out about 400 hp.

I have just installed six new stock springs on my son's '81 850 and it feels quite wonderful.
Lever pressure is far from excessive, and the clutch does not slip at all.

ah, I can see how it works now.

Replacing stock with stock, I'm replacing all 6.

If I was putting in heavy duty springs, I'd do 3, or 6 and build my left wrist up.
