How accurate does carb air screw have to be?
I have a 78 GS550, it's my first bike so I am still figuring this stuff out. I was trying to adjust my idle up a little and accidently adjusted one of the air screws on one of the carbs. I am not sure I adjusted it back exactly as it was (Maybe a full turn off). How accurate should this be? Am I damaging anything riding it if it isn't correct? Thanks.Tags: None

all of the screws should be fairly close so check one of the others by turning it in - LIGHTLY-STRESS LIGHTLY -till it bottoms out (counting the turns in) then turn it back out the same amount of turns and adjust the other accordingly

I just went through adjusting the air screws on my 86 GS550 last week. I found that 3 turns out is when it ran at its best. Make sure when you turn them down you do not turn them too much or you will break the tips off.
