Post carb settings for non factory setups

It would be interesting to have the GS community to post their carb settings for non factory setups.

if you have pods or 4in1 exhaust please post your settings, these would help others when trying to ballpark an initial configuration.

this would create a nice database for future reference and compare the different setups for all GS's

    Bike model and year
Pods type or OEM air box
    4in1 exhaust info
    OEM carbs (yes/no)
    Main Jet size
    Pilot Jet size
    Air mixture screw setting
    OEM needle (yes/no) and position

    #2
    Bike model and year
    1981 GS1000G

Pods type or OEM air box
    K&N Pods

    4in1 exhaust info
    V&H Street Megaphone

    OEM carbs (yes/no)
    Yes, BS34 CV Carbs

    Main Jet size
165 Dynojet = 155 Mikuni. For my bike it's a bit too much, but was the smallest jet with the stage 3 kit. I intend to go Mikuni 152.5 eventually. I'm a smidge rich.

    Pilot Jet size
    Stock

    Air mixture screw setting
    Pilot screw 2.5 turns out

    OEM needle (yes/no) and position
    Dynojet needle, 4th position.

    Edited for typo!

Are you sure tour carbs are BS43 CV Carbs. Just asking!!

BTW this would be really great information for all once it has built up a bit.

Great idea this thread has to be saved in fort knox when it's done. It will help for those replacing stock exhaust with aftermarket ones like MAC etc.

Good idea too, but just a warning, these should be taken as decent base settings perhaps. Dont go assuming that someones set up will work just right in yours, there are far too many variables such as elevation, compression, state of tune, etc etc, to track to use these as the bible. But, for someone looking to get in the ball park i think its a good idea. For instance, I would think on Gonzos 1000G there, that 152.5 is HUGE because my 1100E running bs34s is about 130 or so in the main with pods and a pipe. I think he might be a little richer than he thinks maybe?? Maybe not...

BTW Blueeyes, my now defunct band used to play with Bobaflex all the time, and at one point we were pretty close with the guys. Havent seen them in a couple years, but man the crap we used to get into!

I dunno if youd know of us or know any of our stuff depending on where in the world you are. We were pretty well known around the upper midwest, but not much more than that. The bands name was "Fortyfour"

if youre interested you can still check out some of our stuff, last i saw our myspace site was still up with some tracks you can listen to.

Check it out if ya want. As far as Bobaflex goes, they're kinda an aquired taste i suppose. Some of their stuff is just a lil on the goofy side, although they were super catchy and had killer hooks. They had great stage presence as well. They remind me a bit of a more up to date Faith No More in the way they would just be all over the place and couldnt really be pinned to one genre...

110 main, stock pilot, needle up one notch
I might change this set up, however, it works fine for now, the torque curve is better than stock and there is definatly a horsepower increase at higher rpms to redline.
