different carbs? 550

i have a 78 gs550 the carbs are not cv style the slides are mechanical operated. they are mikuni but they are different from all the others i have seen in the pics. was there an optional carb for that year or what? the owner said they were stock and never changed them out. he only rode it for 8000 miles and parked it

Pre-1980 is VM carbs not CV carbs.

you know what that means.......uni filters!!!!! uni's work great on vm's with a little jetting.
