850... removable headlight bulb?
do the 850s have a removable headlight bulb? reason why i want to know is i am in europe and have access to some Osram Silverstars. i read about them in another thread and i want to try them out.Tags: None

Should be an H4, no? H4's are available everywhere, since most 80's and 90's eurocars took these, anything that didn;t have aero headlights, and some that did.

Yes, the bases are different. All them numbers 'n letters mean different stuff. Your bike takes an H4 bulb.
H4 and 9003 bulbs have the exact same base, and there is widespread suspicion that they are indeed exactly the same bulbs.
On some brands, they do appear to be the exact same bulb, down to the markings and numbers, and some packages are even marked 9003/H4.
On other brands, I've noticed the H4 and 9003 bulbs bear different markings. I replaced a 9003 with an H4 on my VX800 not long ago (the VX likes to shake bulbs to death), and noticed that the light pattern was definitely more even side to side. But maybe that was just having a nice new bulb instead of relying on my faulty memory of the beam pattern of the burned-out bulb.
