Just for poops and wiggles I figured I'd mention my recent project...I just bolted up a GS500 wheel with dual 310mm rotors and Tokico four piston calipers (TL1000S, various GSXR's, Kawasaki ZZR600...also 6 piston will fit). Total investment is $40.

Any pics? Might help a few people out.... Does the 500 wheel runs a bias ply tire?

Sure thing
I'm not sure off the top of my head about bias ply tires...it's a Michelin macadam on at the moment. I'll have some generic tire on the back when I get the rear wheel mounted. Not sure what I'll run with in the end, though.
Mounting was easy. You'll use the axle to match your forks...of course it has to be a 15mm axle but I think all the 70's/80's GS's had 15mm axles. If you use the GS500 speedo drive your stock speedo will still be accurate. You'll need the stock wheel spacers plus some 3/8" washers to fill the gaps. The hardest thing is the calipers. Runnig the bigger calipers means you have no options for bolt on calipers...you have to have relocating hangers fabricated.
