    throttle cable(s)

i have the slide carbs on my GS1000 and was wondering if i could just use 1 throttle cable and do without the closing cable. maybe with a stronger return spring on the carbs.

does anyone else run with just 1 cable?

I've run several GSs with only one cable - works fine. 2nd cable is a safety feature in case the slides jam open - never had it happen though, even with std springs

cool, thought as much, maybe a different story with the cv carbs not sure but am sure one cable will be ok as the spring snaps em shut with some force

I can't imagine why you would want a stronger return spring, unless you are working out to be Mr. Universe.

Yes, it's a different story with the CV carbs ... they only have one cable from the factory.
