i have taken off the old forks and stem ect to replace them with some others that dont have a oil leak.
all good . but i can get the air collars to line up with the line on the fork. because of the light braces.there in the way.i am in the thought of did i set it up wrong .. (did i put the braces in the wrong order. )theres a pic .would like to get out to ride today.. sunday thanx

Two questions: 1) what is an air collar? 2) why didn't you just replace the leaking seal instead of replacing the entire forks?

If you are refering to the headlight mount or "ears" then you have them upside down as per your picture, so you must have swopped them around.

sorry there not upside down ..regards to the braket for the side lights.

i replaced the whole set up because i thought it was easier than takeing out the forks one at a time . plus its a cosmetict thing ..the new ones are prettier.
air collarsis where you ajust the air pressure .

my only thought is the order in wich i put them on .. i think that the air collar "as i call it " should be underneath the bracket for the side lights.. i have tried it but it doesnt fit like that 'and it doesnt fit as it is. so any one whom has a 83 gs 750 e with the 8 inch head light no fairing or other . please take a pic of the same area . so i can figure this out.
              with thanx m

this is aside view of the area .. sorry i coulndt get it the right way round .. uggghh but it does show the area and order.

its o.k. i figured it out .. the bottom tripple tree was too high by about a cm .. so i put a plank of wood underneath the frt wheel and relased the bolts then picked up the board there by moving the whole works up.. "it was already on center stand and jacked up'
