Then I moved on to a simple compression check so I can have a base line for miles down the road and to my amazement cylinder 1 was at 154 PSI #2 @132 #3 @ 150 and #4 @ 152 The bike has 30334 miles on it so I was a little shocked at how high the numbers were. Or is this normal?

A Great Day!!!
Day started off with my first valve adjustment! It went super great! The PO must have recently done it so all valves were in spec!! A large bonus.

Did my valves a week ago or so. Mine were way loose, don't think they had ever been done. Also had to replace both tappet screws on the #4 exhaust side, they were both stripped. I'm needing to do a compression test, but haven't yet. From what I've read though, those sound like good numbers. I'm certainly not experienced enough to answer that one.
Different subject. Have you given any thought about the tailight offer?Larry D

Those are really good compression numbers. Mine were all closer to 130. 100 is still ok---but my manual says below 100 it's time to think rebuild. The Australia guys say they run em hard till 70 psi .
