Riding in rain?
I have a 78 GS550 with emglo pod filters on it. I was wondering in heavy rain, can these things really keep water out of the engine? Thanks.Tags: None

I had pods on my xs650, and if it rain really hard then I would have to drain the bowls after the ride. it got tiresome. But the pods weren't really covered by the side panels, not sure about your set up.

The biggest problem I've heard with pods in the rain is once they get soaked no air gets through and you can't keep the engine running. I've opted not to get pods for that very reason, personally.
Water in the engine wouldn't be a big deal because there probably wouldn't be enough to hydro-lock it but why worry about the additional corrosion in the carbs and other areas anyway?
