Quick breather tube question

NICK!
The proper thing to do would be to route it down to the ground but not in front of the rear tire. If I did it I usually would put them where the carb overflow tubes are or were.
In reality most of the time I would just leave the stock hose on the breather and let it hang down over the trans in between the filter pods.
Make certain it won't interfere with the carb linkage.
Your only going to get a drop of oil every now and then, if you leave it off completely though a fine mist of oil will always be on the back of the valve cover.Last edited by Guest; 08-20-2008, 11:10 AM.

Race bikes dump the breather into a vented container of some sort – catches any oil or fluids and keeps them off the road/track. Might be a good idea to emulate this thought on a road going bike for social responsibility reasons.Ed
To measure is to know.

A lot of guys put those little K&N filters on their Harleys (because everybody gets rid of the stock air filter). I put one on my FXRS but all it did was get saturated with oil (and dirt from the road) and make a mess.1980 GS1100E....Number 15!
