Got it to start, But...

I got my bike to start for the first time the other day, but when it turns over it revs to 4k and stays there and has throttle response, I thought the slides might have been stuck so i pulled them out but they seemed fine when i pulled them and I checked the diaphragm for cracks and rips, that looked fine too, any thoughts?

Was the choke on? That will make it rev up and stay there.

What have you done to the bike to get it up and running?

Was the choke on? Throttle stop (idle) screw not adjusted correctly? Intake air leak (did you have the airbox on)?

I've got it to start with and without choke, does the same for both, idle screw has no effect, and the airbox is on, when i crank the throttle the only thing that happens i can hear the engine through the airbox.
