    Solving the wire tangle

Finally build up the courage to start sorting out the wiring on the '78 750C restoration. Intalled the battery box and the various electrical components that are attached. Last item was the regulator that attaches to the bottom of the box with two screws. Unfortunately, my wire label was missing on the black w/white wire coming out of the regulator. I believe it must go to ground, but I'm not sure where the lug attaches. I believe the yellow wire goes to one of the alternator leads?

I also have a rather large rubber boot that I can't remember where it goes?

    Any help would be appreciated.

neg wire from the rr is best run directly to the battery
the big rubber boot usually covers a whole bunch of connections, just off the main harness

My 77GS750 has a large rubber boot that covers the connections behind the battery box. These include the stator wires going into the r/r and the r/r output.
