850 G starter, What will fit?
What model and year starters fit 82 850 g.

A starter off any year GS850G or GL will fit.
A starter off either year, 80 or 81, GS1000G will fit.
A starter off any year GS1100G, GL, or GK will fit.
I'm not sure about the starters off GS750's or any of the chain-driven GS's. I also don't know about the GS650G or E.
Maybe some others will join this thread and contribute.

Or buy a starter from me me me.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

Ok, I have some pics of the stater as gone gone gone.
Thanks to this site and one of the members, I may have a chance to save this starter. Took the armature to a drill press and chucked, laid narrow edge of file on table, rested the flat side of file against a block of wood to hold at 90 deg. and filed a s**t load off to hopefully save it.
Ohm tests were good. Need to get some brushes and give her a try.
